Cookie Policy
Last updated: 27 May 2026 · Effective date: 27 May 2026
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help websites remember information about your visit — such as whether you are signed in — so you do not have to re-enter details every time. Similar technologies include localStorage, sessionStorage, and pixels; this policy covers all of them collectively as “cookies”.
2. The Cookies We Use
Essential cookies — always on
These cookies are strictly necessary for the website to function and cannot be switched off. They are set in response to actions you take, such as setting your privacy preferences, logging in, or filling in forms. Without them, core features like authentication and security cannot work. Because they are essential, they do not require your consent under the UK ePrivacy Regulations.
- ifsapp_cookie_consent — stores your cookie preferences in localStorage so we remember your choice across visits. Contains: a JSON object with your analytics preference and a timestamp. Expires: never (localStorage persists until cleared).
- Supabase session cookie — keeps you signed in during your session. Set only if you create an account and sign in. Expires: session or up to 7 days (refresh token).
Analytics cookies — opt-in only
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use IFS App — for example, which pages are most visited and how long people spend on them. This helps us improve the site. These cookies collect information in aggregate and do not identify you personally. They are only set after you choose “Accept all” or enable analytics in your cookie settings. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set and no data is sent to Google.
- _ga — distinguishes unique users. Expires: 2 years.
- _ga_<ID> — session state for Google Analytics 4. Expires: 2 years.
- _gid — distinguishes users, refreshed each session. Expires: 24 hours.
IP addresses are anonymised before transmission to Google. We do not share Analytics data with third parties. You can also opt out via the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Functional cookies — always on
Functional cookies remember choices you make to give you a better, more personalised experience. On IFS App this currently includes your preferred colour theme and UI language, stored in localStorage. These are essential to the usability of the site and do not track you across other websites. They are not used for advertising purposes.
3. Third-Party Cookies
IFS App does not embed advertising networks, social media trackers, or Facebook Pixel. The only potential third-party cookies come from Google Analytics (if you consent) and from Google Fonts, which is loaded via a stylesheet served from fonts.googleapis.com. Google Fonts requests may involve Google setting their own cookies or logging your IP address; you can review Google’s privacy policy for details.
4. Your Choices & How to Control Cookies
You can update your preferences at any time by clicking the Cookie settings link in the footer of any page. Choosing “Reject non-essential” means only essential and functional cookies are set; analytics cookies will not load. If you later change your mind, click “Accept all” to re-enable analytics.
You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies. Note that blocking essential cookies may prevent the site from working correctly. For more information, visit aboutcookies.org.
5. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will always reflect the most recent version. Significant changes will be communicated via the consent banner on your next visit.
6. Contact
If you have questions about this Cookie Policy, please contact us at hello@ifsapp.co.uk (subject line: “Cookie Question”). You can also read our full Privacy Policy.
